Student-Staff Liaison

The Staff Student Liaison in the School of HASS in 2010 is Dr. Heather Neilson (extension 88908; Room 29-213;h.neilson@adfa.edu.au The broad role of the Staff Student Liaison is to provide a forum for students to discuss matters relating to the BA course offerings. In accordance with School policy, early in each semester, the Staff Student Liaison facilitates the election of student representatives from each of the four first-year courses offered by HASS. Two meetings are co-ordinated per teaching session with these representatives. At the end of each teaching session, the Staff Student Liaison also invites feedback from students about all upper-level undergraduate courses offered by HASS. Confidentiality is respected. These processes complement the CATEI process as means by which students can make positive or critical comments and suggestions about the content of courses and the manner in which they are presented. The feedback from students is collated and relayed to the respective course coordinators and to the Deputy Head of School in order to inform staff as they work to ensure the highest possible level of quality control and student satisfaction with HASS courses. http://www.unsw.adfa.edu.au/hass/Studying_hass.html
